CVO Profile
Shri Mahesh Chandra is an Indian Railways Stores Service (IRSS) officer of 1986 exam batch and currently placed in Higher Administrative Grade (Level 15). He is a Mechanical Engineering Graduate from IIT Roorkee (erstwhile U.O.R) and Post Graduate Diploma in Materials Management (PGDMM) from IIMM Bombay. He has got more than 36 years’ experience which includes 02 years in Engineers India Limited, a central PSU.
Shri Mahesh Chandra while working in Indian Railways has acquired rich and varied experience in the fields of Supply Chain Management, Imports Clearance, Scrap Disposal, Public Procurement, General Administration, Vigilance and HR matters.
He has worked in various capacities across Indian Railways such as Divisional/Distt. Materials Manager, Dy. Chief Personnel Officer, Dy. Chief Materials Manager, Dy. Chief Vigilance Officer, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Chief Materials Manager and Executive Director, Railway Stores, Railway Board, Ministry of Railways. While working in Ministry of Railways, he was actively involved in formulation of Procurement Policies & its implementation, digitisation of supply chain process and various procurement initiatives across Indian Railways.
He is two times recipient of National Award (Railway Minister) for the Financial Year 2001-2002 and 2007-2008.
Along with the entrustment of additional charge as CVO for Munitions India Limited, he is currently holding the charge as CVO for Mazagaon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd. Mumbai.
